From 28 February to 1 March, Móstoles will turn into one of the key hotspots for junior judo in Europe. Around 500 young judoka from 23 countries are expected to step on the tatami for the European Junior Cup, chasing ranking points and big career milestones.
Future European stars collide in Móstoles for two intense days of judo
The event is already established as one of the most important tournaments on the junior calendar and keeps growing every season. For many European athletes, this Cup is a crucial checkpoint on the road to major championships and, ultimately, senior international success. Every contest can move them higher in the rankings and closer to their long-term goals.
Traditionally staged in Málaga, the competition now moves into the Madrid area as part of Móstoles’ role as European Capital of Sport in 2026. The city is using the tournament to underline its ambition to host high-level international events and to give young talents a serious arena to perform.
Supported by the Royal Spanish Judo Federation (RFEJYDA) and local institutions, the organisation focuses not only on smooth logistics but also on values. The Cup aims to promote respect, discipline and fair play, while building friendships across borders through judo.
This Junior Cup is a launchpad for Europe’s next generation of champions
With delegations from across the continent, the atmosphere in the venue will be loud, colourful and highly competitive. Fans can expect fast ippon finishes, tactical battles, and a constant flow of high-intensity contests. The Móstoles edition of the European Junior Cup is set to be a real showcase of the future of European judo.
