Nina Cvjetko Sets the Pace with -63kg Gold in Skopje

Croatia’s Nina Cvjetko took -63kg gold on the opening day of judo in Skopje. Her result was among the standout moments after the event was officially opened by EJU President Dr Tóth László.

Once the formal opening was complete, attention moved back to the tatami. The first day featured close contests, determined performances and enthusiastic support from the stands.

Cvjetko worked through a demanding competition to finish at the top of the -63kg podium. She said she was very satisfied and happy with the result, which she believes can provide a valuable boost ahead of the European U23 Championships.

The Croatian also underlined the quality of the opposition in Skopje. She described the event as a strong competition with many very good and excellent judoka, adding further weight to her gold-medal performance.

Cvjetko’s Skopje gold arrives at an important moment before the European U23 Championships.
